Why We Created UX Stories

Much of product design happens behind the scenes: the research, trade-offs, and principles that rarely make it beyond a Figma file or Slack thread. UX Stories was created to bring that work into the open — to share our challenges, lessons, and values with the world.

Product Design at Elementor is ambitious. We’re not just building features; we’re shaping the way millions of people create on the web. That means our standard has to be higher than “it works” or “it looks good.” Our north star is Design Excellence — experiences that are intuitive, empowering, and meaningful, while moving the business forward.

When I joined Elementor 4.5 years ago as Director of UX, there were just two product designers on the team. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of growing our design team into a group of more than 15 designers and writers. And today, as we shift into a UX Guild, our challenge is not only to design great products, but also to share our craft, values, and principles more openly.

Because here’s the truth: much of design is invisible. The hours of research that shape a single interaction, the trade-offs that keep a product simple, the rituals and principles that hold a team together — they rarely make it beyond a Figma file or Slack thread. And when design stays invisible, its value can be underestimated.

This is why we created UX Stories.

It’s our space to bring design into the open. To share the problems we tackle, the principles we apply, and the lessons we learn along the way. By doing this, we raise the bar together:

  • For ourselves — to reflect on our work and build our voice.
  • For our teammates — to share ideas and learn from each other.
  • For our stakeholders — to keep our process transparent and impact visible.
  • For the wider community — to give peers and candidates a view into how we work.

But this blog is more than a publishing platform. It’s the first step in a bigger dream I’ve had since joining Elementor: to build a dedicated UX website that showcases the strengths of our design group. A place that reflects not only the products and features we create, but also the culture, principles, and people who make it all happen.

So welcome to UX Stories. Join us behind the pixels. From big challenges to small details, this is how we design.
